The current economic climate might easily lead some people to consider the bankers of this world as having more in common than ever with their rhyming slang alter-ego. So, you may or may not take pity on Roger Crompton when a much anticipated and carefully planned dirty weekend, to celebrate his fiftieth birthday, runs into some difficulty. The hotel he has chosen is struggling with its own economic decline and is threatened with closure by the bank - the same bank that employs Roger and his fancy woman, Ruth. And then there is Nathan Pond, an aging rock star who?s making a comeback at the local rock festival and has been booked into the same hotel by his agent, Cassandra Blue. She knows what he?s like but will she be able to stop him drinking the bar dry before the gig? Will Nathan?s mysterious stalker, Daphne Flannel, spook him? And why do all the guests appear to be called ?Jones?? Saskia, the Latvian receptionist, isn?t quite sure and Peter Fenton - who owns the struggling hotel with his wife, Jane - thinks the police are after him. Roger and his colleague, Martin also feel the long arm of the law (or is it long legs?)
